Greece is a popular summer destination for tourists from all over the world. Every year thousands of individuals, friends and families arrive in the country for their summer holidays. This country offers amazing beach breaks, historic discoveries and beautiful landscapes.

The beaches
Greece has the longest coastline on the Mediterranean Sea. This gives the country a large number of towns and villages on the coast with beautiful beaches and unique histories. Greek beaches have predominately white sand and turquoise clear waters. Definitely, it is the ideal place to relax and take a break from everyday life.
The islands
Greece has between 1,000 and 6,000 individual islands of all sizes and shapes. Many of these islands are inhabited but a large number are still uninhabited and unexplored. Greece is a great place to hire a boat or go sailing as you can discover beautiful islands and unique coastal caves as you travel by.

The history
Greek history is one of the most extensive and influential in the world. Greece was the birthplace of philosophy, literature, mathematics, history, drama, the Olympic Games, democracy and the Latin alphabet. Much of Greece’s history in present through its extensive collection of historical monuments, towns, villages, palaces, sculptures, theatres, and other historical landmarks.
The climate
Greece has a Mediterranean climate with a average summer temperature of between 24 and 34 degrees celsius. Greece has mild and rainy winters, and warm and dry summers, making it the perfect summer destination. July and August are the hottest months and temperatures can reach up to 40 degrees celsius.
The activities
Greece’s proximity to the ocean and vast coastline means that it’s a perfect place to try a variety of water sports. Activities such as water skiing, sailing, swimming, kayaking and other sports are easy to find throughout the country on the coastline. As the country is a mountainous, there are also a large number of hiking trails and mountain biking routes.

The food
Greece’s cuisine is predominately Mediterranean with a large variety of meat, vegetables, olive oil, fish and wine. The majority of restaurants are family-run and it’s easy to find a delicious home cooked style meal in every town. Many of these restaurants overlook the ocean. This fact make them ideal places to have a meal while watching the beautiful sunset over the endless ocean.
The unique sights
Greece has a number of unique and wonderful sights to visit including Shipwreck Cove, the Old Town of Rhodes, Athens, and Santorini. Shipwreck Cove is a unique isolated beach on the Greek island of Zakynthos. It is home to an old abandoned shipwreck, unbelievable crystal clear waters, and pure white sandy beaches.
The Old Town of Rhodes is a UNESCO World Heritage site on the island of Rhodes that is full of culture and beautifully preserved architecture. Santorini is the picturesque island that has typical white washed buildings with painted blue doors and windows. Athens is a city that have history and culture, as ancient ruins, all around it.
As you can see, Greece definitely have beautiful beaches, islands, historic sights, a great climate and delicious cuisine.
